An Interesting Research Question?

What consequences would a shift towards “renewable”, “green” energy (eg. windmills) have for a country’s energy security in times of (future) near-home conflict?

The thought that lead to above question: is it easier to knock out a country’s power supply if it comes from windmills (being many, small, and spread out) or if it comes from nuclear power plants (being fewer but bigger)?

I really don’t know much about the topic, and I might be thinking old-school warfare, so feel free to ridicule me if you want. Besides, if it isn’t a stupid question then it must’ve been asked already.
